MULSS Election 2025
your candidates…
SECRETARY
Sharon Liang
Sharon Liang for MULSS Secretary
Passionate | Organised | Committed (and maybe a little bit fun, too!)
Hey everyone! I’m Sharon Liang, and I’m running to be your next MULSS Secretary. If you want someone who’s on top of everything, thrives on organisation, and actually enjoys admin work (yes, I know, weird flex), then I’m your candidate!
The Secretary role is all about keeping the LSS running smoothly—whether it's organising elections, booking rooms, supporting events, or making sure things don’t descend into chaos. And trust me, I love making things efficient, streamlined, and stress-free for everyone. With my experience as Open Moot Officer (MULSS), External Engagement Officer (Criminal & Family Law Association), and a Court Network Volunteer, I’ve spent plenty of time juggling tasks, coordinating events, and handling logistics like a pro.
Why vote for me?
I’ll keep the LSS running like a well-oiled machine.
Transparency? You’ll know exactly what’s happening and when.
More support for LSS events = more amazing opportunities for YOU.
I take rules and governance seriously (but I promise I won’t be boring about it).
So if you want a Secretary who’s proactive, reliable, and genuinely excited about making LSS better for everyone—I’d love your vote! Let’s make this next year smooth, organised, and maybe even a little fun.
Vote Sharon Liang for MULSS Secretary!
Muskaan Dalmia
Hey Everyone!
I’m Muskaan, and I am so excited to announce that i’m running for the position of Secretary for the LSS. I believe that with my experience in leadership roles, I know what it takes to keep things running smoothly behind the scenes and I would love the opportunity to be able to advocate for your interests in the LSS.
As the former First-Year Representative of the LSS, I have obtained firsthand experience in representing student voices and developed a strong understanding of how the organization operates. Furthermore my experience with founding and leading the Pre-Law Society taught me how to build an organisation from the ground up and maintain strong orgnaisational skills that would translate well to the role of a secretary.
If elected, I would focus on maintaining a clear and efficient stream of communication and making sure that everyone has access to important information. Ultimately, I want to create a space where students can voice their opinions and be able to represent those interests in the committee.
I hope that I can earn your vote this election and please feel free to approach me if you have any questions or concerns!!

David Trevorrow
Who am I?
Hi, I’m David!
I have extensive governance and administration experience, including as Secretary of a local sports club, as an UMSU Committee Member, and as Operations and Digital Coordinator at Victorian Student Representative Council (VicSRC), where I empowered school students to be heard by decisionmakers like the Minister of Education.
I’m highly organised, self-motivated, collaborative and love being a part of the law school community. In my spare time (what’s that?), I love cooking, watching movies and swimming.
Why am I running?
The LSS has a lot on its plate right now. The role of LSS Secretary is demanding and needs someone who is on top of every little detail and the big picture.
In my role at VicSRC I prepared agendas and kept minutes for the Board of Trustees, developed HR policies, helped the staff team stay organised, and collaborated with a law firm to develop a unique student-led governance model for the organisation.
I want to use my governance and risk management experience to support the LSS Committee to proudly and fearlessly represent the views of law students.
What are my goals?
Ensure the LSS meets its legal obligations and its obligations to you – its members.
Ensure transparency and accountability.
Revamp the LSS Constitution and regulations to make them clearer, more accessible for everyone, and better suited to serve the LSS’s needs.

FIRST YEAR REP
Lensa Omar
Hey everyone! I’m Lensa, a first-year JD student. I graduated last year with a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Neuroscience. Throughout my undergraduate studies, I came to appreciate how much actively engaging in university life can enrich one’s overall experience, both academically and personally.
As the middle child of five and a first-generation university graduate, I understand the importance of community. Law school will be challenging, but like anything in life, having a strong support system makes all the difference. That’s why I’m running for First-Year Representative – to ensure that everyone’s voice is heard and that we help each other succeed. If elected, I would work with the Law Students' Society to advocate for our cohort, create opportunities for us to connect, and help make this year both manageable and memorable!
Outside of study, I’ve always embraced new experiences and seized opportunities to learn and grow. I bring that same enthusiasm to law school and I’m passionate about fostering a supportive community environment where we all thrive together.
Let’s make the JD our next great adventure!

Max Evans
Hi! My name is Max Evans, and I would be honoured to serve you as your First-Year Representative. Since starting my JD, I have been inspired by the warmth, kindness and intellect of our cohort and want to ensure everyone feels just as welcomed and supported so you can unapologetically be yourself.
Originally from Brisbane, I completed a BPPE at the ANU. Moving interstate for university meant navigating a new environment, friendships and adjusting to the demands of a challenging degree. One of the things that helped me was a strong and inclusive cohort; and I want to help foster that for all of us.
As an approachable first year representative, a big thing I want to encourage this year is saying ‘yes’ to every opportunity that comes your way. Whether that’s stepping outside your comfort zone, making new connections, or volunteering, what you put into life is what you get back.
I also know that first year can feel overwhelming and that’s why I am passionate about making sure support is available and used to those who need it.
Whether that means organising social events, study groups, or just being a friendly face around the Law School, I will always be here to listen to your feedback and raise your concerns.
As your First-Year Representative, I promise to:
✅ Foster a safe and inclusive environment where all voices are heard and valued.
✅ Be a proactive and enthusiastic advocate for our cohort to the Law School.
✅ Be a friendly and approachable face - whether you need support or just a chat!
Starting law school is a big step, but you don’t have to navigate it alone. If you want a first year that’s welcoming, social, and enriching then I would genuinely love your support

Vote Thomas for First-Year Representative!
Feeling overwhelmed? You're not alone. We need a strong voice to make things easier, more connected, and just a little less stressful. Hi, I’m Thomas, and I’m running for First-Year Representative.
I have experience advocating for students and getting things done. As an Undergraduate Peer Mentor, I helped new students settle in, just like I’ll do for our cohort. As a Student Facilitator at the Business Innovation Lab, I supported multiple student teams in their work with industry and charity organisations. As a Green Impact Student Auditor, I contributed to sustainability initiatives that made a real difference.
I’ll bring that same energy and dedication to representing our year. If elected, I’ll work to strengthen connections between first-years and the wider legal community by supporting networking events, mentoring programs, and initiatives that make MLS feel more welcoming. Further, as one of your First-Year Reps, I will listen to your needs and bring your interests to the forefront of LSS advocacy.
First and foremost, MLS needs proper paper towel dispensers in every bathroom. We are students, not medieval peasants!
I’m approachable, proactive, and ready to represent you.
Vote Thomas for First-Year Rep. Let’s make this year unforgettable.
Sarah Ong
Hi First-Year MLS Peeps!
I’m excited to announce that I’m running to be your 2025 Melbourne University Law Students’ Society First-Year Representative. Despite law studies being difficult, my goal is to help make life easier for you. Given that I am a Miss Worldwide International Ambassador, former Vice President of CIRS (Curtin International Relations Society) and co-organised an online fundraising event in collaboration with UN Women Australia as a former member of the Curtin Student Guild Women’s Department, I developed leadership, critical thinking and other transferrable skills that will be useful to the First-Year Representative position. If elected, my main goals will be to:
[1] Prioritise the mental health, well-being and learning needs of students by fostering a supportive student network and ensure that students are able to give positive constructive feedback to teachers so that their learning needs are met.
[2] Provide free treats and coffee in the MLS building. It’s a great way to make sure that students get the fuel they need throughout the day.
[3] Help students who struggle with the English language to improve their English skills whilst studying law.
[4] Organise more social networking events with relevant legal professionals, held specifically for first-year students to pave the way for finding more employment opportunities in law.
If you were to elect me as your First-Year Representative, I will work to ensure that your needs come first and that your voices are heard!

Noah Sleiman
Hello! My name is Noah (he/him), and I would be honoured to serve as your First-Year Representative! I’m 23 years old and originally from Geelong, Victoria (go cats!). I’ve lived in Melbourne for the last five years during my studies at UniMelb. During that time, I saw firsthand the power of student bodies to advocate for real student transformation and make a true impact on our communities, and I would be super keen to bring that energy to our law school!
I have previous experience in student leadership roles from secondary school and would love to continue that by supporting and representing you, my fellow first years. I’ve already had the pleasure of meeting many of you during Orientation, LMR, and in class, and I hope to be a friendly, familiar face you can turn to whenever needed, in any capacity.
I’m also involved in the Public Interest Law Network and the Melbourne Sport Law Association as I am passionate about using community as a vehicle for change. I believe it’s a privilege to be a student at this awesome law school, and with your vote, I aim to make us all proud by using this opportunity to create positive change.
As your First-Year Representative, I’ll work hard to foster a strong, united student body, ensuring that we navigate the coming years together. If you think I’m someone who can represent you well, I would love your vote! I promise I won’t let you down.
