The Indigenous Portfolio is mainly concerned about trying to engage with MLS Indigenous Students and forming better community. The role is also about creating a safer environment for Indigenous students.

Events will be organised at the start of the year to connect the students and developing better collegiality. Often, other portfolios will liaise with the Indigenous Representative seeking advice on how to make their event or space more respectful and inclusive for Indigenous students. Lastly, the Indigenous Representative is responsible for organising events that are about raising awareness for Indigenous law related issues like the systemic racism of the criminal justice system, or discussions around treaty etc.
