Acknowledgement of Country
The Melbourne University Law Students’ Society acknowledges that the Law School sits on stolen Wurundjeri land of the Kulin Nation, and we pay our respects to Elders past and present. Sovereignty was never ceded.
As law students, we acknowledge that Aboriginal people experience disproportionate rates of imprisonment and interaction with the legal system. We strive to challenge the intersections of racism that cause this.
The MULSS is contributing to the ‘Pay the Rent’ campaign. A portion of the Society’s revenue is paid to various Indigenous organisations in recognition of our existence on stolen land. We encourage others to consider Paying the Rent with us.
