Sir Harry Gibbs Constitutional Law Moot
The Melbourne University Law Students’ Society (‘MULSS’) in conjunction with the Australian Association of Constitutional Law (‘AACL’) was pleased to host the 2024 Sir Harry Gibbs Constitutional Law Moot (‘Gibbs Moot’). The Gibbs Moot is proudly sponsored by the Australian Government Solicitor (‘AGS’).
2024 Results
The 2024 Sir Harry Gibbs Constitutional Law Moot was held from Friday, 4 October 2024 to Monday, 7 October 2024. The high calibre moot brought together Australia’s best constitutional law mooters to compete in Melbourne.
Congratulations to the University of Technology Sydney team (Grace Strik, Gina Tran, and Ryan Little) on winning the Grand Final of the 2024 Sir Harry Gibbs Constitutional Law Moot! The runners-up were the Australian National University team (Dimitrios Bezos, E Wen Wong, and Alex Bako).
A special congratulations must also go to Ryan Little (UTS) for being awarded Best Speaker in the Grand Final, to Max Douglass (University of Melbourne) for being awarded Best Speaker in the Preliminary Rounds, and to the University of Sydney Team (Peter Taurian, Timothy Collins, and Yijun Cui) for being awarded both Best Written Plaintiff Memorandum and Best Written Defendant Memorandum!
Thank you to the Hon. Justice Stephen McLeish, the Hon. Justice Rowena Orr, and the Hon. Michael Black AC KC for adjudicating this year’s Grand Final, and to the Australian Government Solicitor for once again sponsoring the Gibbs Moot.

2023 Results
Congratulations to the University of Melbourne team (Felix Geake-Ransome, Jack Fagan, and Eleanor Twomey) on winning the Grand Final of the 2023 Sir Harry Gibbs Constitutional Law Moot!
The runners-up were the University of Western Australia team (Yi-Yun Loei, Tiffany Chisholm Gardner, and Melanie Fraser).
A special congratulations must also go to Jack Fagan for being awarded Best Speaker for the Grand Final and Tiffany Chisholm Gardner for being awarded Best Speaker in the Preliminary Rounds.
