Education

The Education portfolio advocates for JD students at MLS on educational issues including course delivery, assessment, and special consideration. We regularly meet with the faculty to put students’ needs on the agenda and present issues students might not feel comfortable raising themselves.

We are responsible for a number of initiatives and programs.

  • We produce the Orientation Guidebook, which provides first year students with an overview of what’s on offer at MLS.

  • We oversee the Pathfinder program, run during LMR and designed to connect first year students with their peers and later year students. orientation and LMR.

  • We recruit for, and coordinate, the Student Tutorial Service (STS), which provides a platform for high-achieving students to support others with core subjects in which they excelled.

  • We oversee Stepping Stones: a youth mentoring program that aims to foster relationships between current MLS students and senior secondary school students from schools that are underrepresented at the University of Melbourne.
