Welcome to the Melbourne University Law Students’ Society
From all of the Melbourne University Law Students’ Society (the ‘MULSS’), I would like to welcome you to our website.
The MULSS is the peak student representative body for students undertaking the Juris Doctor at Melbourne Law School and the oldest continuing law student society in Australia.
We provide membership to all JD students free of charge. As a society, we aim to enhance the academic, social, and personal wellbeing of our student members by providing a range of resources, activities, and support networks that address all areas of student life. The MULSS is run entirely by student volunteers who engage with the society to enrich the experience of their peers during our time at Melbourne Law School.
Our core responsibility is to advocate for students and their needs. This role has become ever more important during 2020 as students and faculty have had to work together every step of the way to overcome the many hurdles that were presented to us as a community. As we look forward to 2021, this year’s MULSS committee is focused on ensuring that every student at Melbourne Law School feels connected and supported each and every day.
My role is to directly communicate the needs of students to faculty and other members of the broader law school community so that we can make changes and developments to the student experience in this degree. 2020 has taught us how to listen, care, and connect in new ways and I am committed to taking the lessons we have learnt this year and applying them to everything the MULSS does in 2021.
Although we may not be on campus right now, the MULSS is always here for students. Contact information for all portfolios can be found on this website via the committee page. I also encourage you to reach out to me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
