Victoria University Survey on Lesbian, Gay, Transgender and Bisexual People’s Experiences of Sport

Been excluded by cliquey teams? Felt uncomfortable in the change rooms? Smacked ball after ball out of the park and wanna brag about it?

Victoria University is conducting a survey to examine the experiences of Lebian, Gay, Transgender and Bisexual people’s experiences with sport.

Go to Come Out To Play to let them know your own experiences with participating in sport in Victoria.

Their online survey aims to examine the experiences, barriers and facilitators of LGBT participation in sport within Victoria. The survey is being carried out by Vic Uni and Gay and Lesbian Health Victoria (GLHV).

This is what they say on why to complete the survey:

Why complete the survey?

This survey is aimed to provide information about the sporting experiences of LGBT adult Victorians—what sports and physical activities they are involved in (past and present), the motivations to be involved, stay involved, drop out or not be involved in the first place as well as the experiences, issues and challenges of this involvement etc. Sporting involvement is considered broadly—we want to hear from those who do not play/engage in sport as well as those who play, officiate, coach, administrate and support sport. This is the first survey of its kind in Australia.
