International Students

The International Students’ portfolio advocates the interests of the international student community within Melbourne Law School. The LSS International Students portfolio cooperates and collaborates with the Global Law Students Association’s International Student Liaison. Alongside the GLSA liaison, the LSS International Students’ Representative will serve the international student body in three primary ways.

First, organising inclusive social events that international students of all backgrounds can participate in without reservation. For example, a casual dinner or fun afternoon playing lasertag or bowling.

Second, through the Tandem Mentoring program. The Tandem program operates to alleviate the difficulties and pressures of relocation to a new country and facilitating international student integration into the larger student body by matching upper-year students with incoming international students from the beginning of LMR.

Third, the International Students’ Representative seeks to support international students overcome the unique challenges they face in gaining access to clerkship and Graduate programs, as well as other careers in Australia.
