Location: Room 920
The Queer Portfolio will be kicking off the new year on Tuesday 19 March at the annual Welcome Back Lunch for queer-identifying students and their allies and friends. Light fare and good banter will be provided. We look forward to seeing you there. Welcome back!!
[NB: We realise that, technically speaking, this is not our first event see: Nic Holas lecture, but the more welcome back events, the merrier, right?]
Please message us for any dietary requirements or accessibility needs.
This event is for queers and allies. We want these events to be a safe space for all—whether queer and out of the closet, queer and in the closet, questioning, or an ally. To create this space, we ask that you don’t ask or make any assumptions about fellow attendees and where they fit on the rainbow.
This event takes place on stolen Wurundjeri land of the Kulin nation, and we pay our respects to elders past, present and emerging as well as any First Nations folk attending. Sovereignty was never ceded. As the queer directors, we acknowledge that queer First Nations folk experience disproportionate rates of trans- and/or homophobia and marginalisation. We strive to challenge the intersections of racism and trans- and/or homophobia that cause this discrimination.
