Meet the Profession Cocktail Evening
The Meet the Profession Cocktail Evening is one of the most popular events run in the law school. The evening provides an invaluable opportunity for students to chat with and ask questions of firm HRs, partners and graduates before seasonal clerkship applications close. Come and chat to major law firms and organisations in a relaxed friendly atmosphere and enjoy a night of gourmet food and wine!
Meet the Profession is scheduled to be held on Thursday 13th May 2010 at 6:45pm at the Essoign Club, Owen Dixon Chambers East (205 William St, Melbourne), so put the date in your diary!
Tickets can be purchased from the LSS office on level 2 from Monday 3 May for $10 each (EFTPOS only). There is a limit of 150 tickets available.
Melbourne Uni Law Comedy Revue Auditions!
It's that time of year... Melbourne Uni Law Comedy Revue auditions are here again so if you think you're funny, here's your chance to prove it.
The Melbourne Uni Law Comedy Revue (simply, The Law Revue) is a long-running sketch comedy show that dates back to the early 1980s & has started the career of people like The D-Gen, Mick Molloy, Magda Szubanski, and more recently Sammy J, Ant Simpson & Celia Pacquola.
Auditions are on the following dates, which aren't far off so if you're not auditioning yourself, but know of funny, talented people who might be interested please encourage them to try out!

Seminar One: ‘Dealing with Exam Stress’
With exams fast approaching, the Melbourne University Law Students’ Society is here to provide assistance and support during this challenging time. We therefore present the first in our series of Health and Wellbeing Seminars, ‘Dealing with Exam Stress’.
‘Dealing with Exam Stress’ is a lunchtime seminar that will discuss:
- Methods for identifying anxiety.
- Motivation strategies to increase exam performance.
- Strategies to reduce exam anxiety.
- In addition, Minter Ellison will provide a legal industry perspective about how to manage work/life balance.
Date: Wednesday 13th May.
Time: 1pm–2pm.

- Felicity Rousseaux, Counsellor from Melbourne University Counselling Service.
