E-Qual - Equality Journal and Volunteering Guide
E-Qual (2010/2011) Now Accepting Submissions!
E-qual now accepting submissions!
E-qual is the new Equality LSS publication being launched in 2010!
Things you should know:
1. The best submission this year will be rewarded with a $500 apple store gift voucher! (submissions will be shortlisted and judged by a panel including a representative from faculty and our sponsors Clayton Utz and the Leo Cussen Institute).
2. This is a great opportunity to get published.
If you have an interesting volunteering experience, or want to provide some insight or opinion on a contemporary equality issue in society, we would love to hear from you! The handbook has a readership of well over 400, so get those thinking caps on and share your thoughts!
Some topics we would love to hear about in our ‘Opinion’ section include:
Humans Rights Protection and Promotion in Australia.
Access to Justice (area of your choice).
Law and Philanthropy (using your law degree for social good).
Law and reform (which areas of law need to be reviewed?).
Popular Politics (politicians and social networking tactics).
The Great Climate Debate (how should the law be used to combat climate change?).
Any other boom busting idea you have!
We would also be very interested in publishing your volunteer experience, which may include:
Work experience in places such as PILCH, Community Legal Centres, VGSO, the Bar etc.
Internship experiences in a non-corporate sector.
Travelling in a developing country.
If you have any questions or would like to discuss your ideas with us, please do not hesitate to e-mail LSS Equality. We are currently accepting submissions (word limit is a suggestion only: 500–1000 words) from both LLB and JD students.
Submission Deadline: 13th September, 2010
Please send your article to LSS Equality by 13th September. Pictures and photos are also welcome!
Bruce Hardy and Penelope Ward, Co-Directors of Equality.
